MY STORY

MY STORY

The Accident:

In 2020, my life changed in an instant. A slip and fall accident left me with a traumatic brain and neck injury.

The next day, I woke up with intense pressure in my head. I tried to go to school but felt “off.” I was sensitive to light and sound. When I got overstimulated, my ears rang intensely. Reading and concentrating became hard. My brain felt foggy, and my spatial awareness grew worse.

The Struggle:

I searched everywhere for answers. I tried to work with professionals, but too often I left feeling misunderstood. Very few truly understood what I was experiencing.

It was also incredibly hard to advocate for myself while dealing with so many symptoms at once. I didn’t feel like myself, and that made speaking up even harder.

Over time, my symptoms grew worse: dizziness, neck pain, severe headaches and migraines, paranoia, depression, and anxiety.

Taking Recovery into My Own Hands:

That frustration pushed me to take ownership of my recovery. I dove into research, explored every possible angle of neck and head rehabilitation, and started experimenting with movement, strength, and stability training on my own body.

Through years of trial, error, and persistence, I learned something powerful: recovery is possible, but it has to be simple, empowering, and tailored to the person living it.

Why I started Neuro Neck Care:

That is why I started Neuro Neck Care. My mission is to make recovery accessible and practical for anyone dealing with neck instability, concussion aftereffects, or symptoms that leave them feeling stuck and alone. What I’ve learned is that recovery isn’t only about exercises. It’s about rebuilding the relationship you have with your body, regaining confidence in how you move, and finding hope again.

If you’re here, I know you’ve been searching for answers too. You don’t have to go through it alone. I created this space so you can have the tools, support, and understanding I wish I had when I was in the darkest parts of recovery.

Together, we can rebuild.

 FAQs

  • Since I get this question so much, I made a free eBook where you can find the full list of the symptoms I experienced. You can download it by clicking HERE.

  • Everything did! When it comes to recovery, it requires a personalized, integrative approach. I found most of my symptoms to be neck related, so properly training the neck along with the visual and vestibular system accelerated my recovery after I built a good foundation for myself through diet, aerobic exercise, meditation, and strength training.

  • No, I did not.

  • Yes, because my injury involved me falling and hitting the back of my head, I was in hyperflexion. This should certainly be addressed while improving overall function including muscle endurance and sensorimotor control.
